WELCOME TO THE BIGGEST SNOWBOARD CONTEST IN SWEDEN.
Ale Invite is back after last year's success, when 18 of the best Snowboarders in the world battled for the price purse of 20,000 USD in Alebacken in front of 9,000 spectators and 80,000 unique hits on the live stream.
Ale Invite 2016 takes place on Saturday the 13th of February and just like last year, the contest will be an official stop on the World Snowboard Tour. This time we are reaching an even bigger audience as Swedish Television is confirmed to broadcast the event.
The festival area will be expanded from last year, holding a couple of thousand more people to experience the biggest snowboarding event in Sweden.
Ale Invite is combined with a music festival, with famous artists on stage, a big local market, beer tents and actitivities for all ages. Confirmed artists for Ale Invite 2016 are Den Svenska Björnstammen, Zeila and Tracy Irve.
One big change from last year is that the top women riders of the world will also join the competition. Together with the men they will be competing for 40,000 USD this time. A warm welcome back to the winter festival with free admission in Alebacken, just north of Gothenburg Sweden!
PARKING & PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The parking fee is 40 SEK cash for the entire day, please bring the right amount of cash. The Alebacken parking lot will be closed to give more space for the festival area, more info where to park will be presented later on. Are you travelling with public transport from Gothenburg Central Station you should go for the shuttle train and jump off at the Älvängen Station. Here is the train schedule for the 13th of february. From Älvängen Station, you take one of our shuttle buses straight to Alebacken.

If you need a hotel during your Ale Invite visit, we recommend The Fars Hatt Hotel in Kungälv. Call 0303-10970 or e-mail info@farshatt.se and mention the code ”Ale Invite” for discount. With the code your accomodation will be 795 SEK for a single room and 995 SEK for a double room. Breakfast, wifi, free parking and access to the sauna is included. Fars Hatt is about 10 km from Alebacken.
ACTIVITIES
Ale Invite is more than just a big snowboard competition - it's a winter festival for the whole family, with activities and music for all ages. Inside the festival area there are several different food and beverage vendors, a local market, a stage and a large heated beer tent. The children's area has several free activities; a snowboard school for 2-6 year olds and between 11-15, all children can get a face painting at the business fair. The slopes of Alebacken and the children's and sledge slope will also be open if we have enough snow. More info can be found in our FAQ below.

HEROES WANTED
We are looking for 100 heroes to help out with Ale Invite 2016! The volunteer job is divided into two 6-hour shifts, and in addition to a lifelong gratitude from us, you also get a goodie bag from our sponsors.
